This heritage tourism initiative is a cooperative effort of two cities and three counties, spearheaded by the Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau. The brochure and website tell the story of the westward migration of pioneers who crossed the Blue Ridge Mountains on the way to settle the American frontier. The campaign also consisted of a print ad that appeared in several heritage publications as far away as New York.
